For hire desks, not hirers

The yard desk, in the browser.

A booking page your customers actually finish. They pay by card, upload their licence and bills, and sign on a tablet at collection. You keep a desk backup when the process stalls.

Customer zero is Dreams on Wheels Ltd, East Yorkshire. This site sells the software. It does not list vans for hire.

What the desk runs

Booking page

Dates in and out, the vans that are actually free, extras, hirer details. A hire estimate they can see before they commit.

Hirer pays by card

Deposit of £250, or the full hire if collection is within six weeks. Balance collected before the keys. Security deposit stays on the terminal at the yard.

Documents & DVLA

Licence front and back, two proofs of address, DVLA check code. Originals still sighted at collection — the uploads are the pre-check, not a substitute.

Sign on the yard

Hire agreement and condition report on a signature pad. The hirer’s magic link is the same page they used from home, opened on the desk tablet.

How a hire moves

  1. Book. Hirer picks dates and a van. The system blocks those dates inclusive.
  2. Pay. Card for the deposit, or the full hire inside six weeks.
  3. Upload. Licence, two bills, DVLA code — before they arrive.
  4. Yard. Sight originals, take the £1,000 security on the terminal, sign agreement and condition, release.
  5. Desk backup. If a step sticks, the operator ticks it. The gate warns; it does not lock the keys in a drawer.

Built for a real desk

Unlimited miles, collection at 2pm, return at 11am, drivers 25 to under 79 with two years on the licence. Pets by arrangement. Leisure use. The agreement is short enough to sign without a solicitor on the drive.

This labs preview has test payment buttons instead of Stripe. There is no mailer yet — the hirer’s magic link is shown on screen after booking.
